August 4, 2014 – Exploring Your SHIFT

Our August Forum highlights SHIFT picks for great reads.

SPEED REVIEWS of the Best Reads for High Impact Change

If you are currently navigating transition in your life or contemplating making a personal SHIFT in the near future, come learn about several highly recommended books that can help you make that journey more successful.  In this invigorating SHIFT Forum, you’ll explore up to four books from the list below with our own SHIFT discussion leaders in a short, “speed-dating” format:

  • Lean Startup by Eric Ries (led by Vic Ward)
  • True North by Bill George and Doug Baker (led by Nathan Davis)
  • Project Renewment by Bernice Bratter and Helen Dennis (led by Barbara O’Sullivan and/or Jane Harens)
  • Happiness Is a Choice by Barry Neil Kaufman (led by Kirin Loomis)
  • Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of your Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain, and Illness by Jon Kabat-Zinn (led by David Alley)
  • Navigating Integrity—Transforming Business as Usual into Business at its Best by Al Watts (led by Al Watts)
  • Life Reimagined by Richard Leider and Alan Webber (led by John Murphy)
  • Transitions: Making Sense of Life’s Changes by William Bridges (led by Catherine Mullinax-Jones and/or Jacque Bieber)
  • Play: How it Shapes the Brain, Opens the Imagination, and Invigorates the Soul by Stuart Brown, M.D. (led by Jay McManus)

In each of these 15-minute breakout sessions, discussion leaders will highlight the main points of the book and engage the group in conversation around the topics that are most valuable to you. You’ll have enough time to participate in up to four different sessions.

Is there a book that really resonates with you?  Each of these short, exploratory sessions is designed not only to highlight the book, but also to dovetail into specific SHIFT fall programming that you won’t want to miss.  Come explore how making a SHIFT in your own life can energize you this fall!
