Android users love the ability to customize their devices. But often after months of adding new apps and everyday use, the home screen becomes messy. It might include apps that you rarely use. And you get frustrated because can’t find the information or apps that you need. Is this your experience? Ask yourself these questions:
- Does the home screen on your Android Smartphone need some good old-fashioned spring cleaning?
- Are you using the easiest shortcuts to manage basic device functions?
- Are you using widgets to display essential information at a glance?
This workshop will teach you key principles to be more effective with your Android smartphone. We will explore essential shortcuts for basic phone functions like silencing the ringer, using the camera and more. We will explore widgets for easy access to the information you find essential. And finally we will help with you do spring cleaning to your home screen to keep it effective for you.
In summary, let’s try to make your Android smartphone-smarter and bring a sense of order and effectiveness to your life.
What to expect in this session.
Bring your Android smartphone, your curiosity and your questions to this SHIFT workshop. The session will be fast-paced, hands-on and engaging. You will receive a handout of essential tips and if you miss a step during class, you will have access to a class web page on the Senior Tech Club website where you can review the topics that we explore.
Finally, we will also reserve time at the end of the session for Q&A and sharing. This is your chance to ask a nagging question or learn how others are using their smartphones.
Please note: This is not an Android beginner session. This session is best for Android Phone users who have experience making calls, sending texts and using the basic functions of their devices.
