Workshop: Things you didn’t know your iPhone could do! Camera & Photos

Things you didn’t know your iPhone could do! – Camera & Photos

Photographers when asked, “what’s the best camera?” will  sometimes say, “the best camera is the one that you have with you.” Surprisingly the Apple iPhone that you carry is a capable camera with surprising features. If you only knew about them!

Many people use their Apple iPhones to take basic family photos and capture “Kodak” moments. However, on further review, you will find that the Camera and Photos app have dozens of useful features and tricks that are largely hidden from everyday users. We call these features Nuggets.

This Shift Workshop will help you explore and discover Nuggets. Exploring these Nuggets will not only introduce you to new useful functions but will also help you appreciate the power in your hand and build your confidence in handling your device.  The Nuggets that you will explore in this workshop will include ways to quickly access the camera app, shutter release options, controlling focus and exposure,  reviewing the various camera modes, discussing the rule of thirds for photo composition and tips for organizing your photos.

What to expect in this session.

Bring your Apple iPhones, your curiosity and your questions to the Shift Workshop. The session will be fast-paced, hands-on and engaging. If there are steps you miss during class, you will have access to lessons on the Senior Tech Club web site so that you can recreate the actions that we explore. If you already know one of the Nuggets we explore, we’ll ask you to help your neighbor. That’s a great way to build your confidence in handling your device.

Finally, we will also reserve time at the end of the session for Q&A and sharing. This is your chance to ask a nagging question or learn how others are using their iPhones.

This is not an iPhone beginner session. This session is best for Phone users who have experience making calls, sending texts and have taken some photos with the Camera app.

Additionally, the Nuggets we explore in this session are different than our previous SHIFT workshops. Previous workshop participants are invited back to learn more!
