By choice or out of necessity, more people than ever are making transitions at midlife, a time when people start to imagine new goals for themselves. Midlifers today seek guidance to help them discover, explore and take action to support their new objectives. They need a community of like-minded colleagues to learn from and experiment with. They need an advocate working with employers to take advantage of the skills and experience that make midlifers essential to the work force. And they need resources in order to see themselves through a new lens, a lens that will help them envision a path to reinvention and sustainability.
Founded in 2006, SHIFT is a Minneapolis-St. Paul-based nonprofit community that connects individuals making midlife transitions. SHIFT serves as a compass to navigate these transitions, creating pathways to greater meaning in life and work.
