From the outside looking in, improvising, being put on the spot or having to navigate unexpected change may seem terrifying at times. But in reality, we are all improvisers in our everyday lives–we make decisions quickly when needed, change paths and find our way.
Join SHIFT in welcoming Jenni Lilledahl, co-owner of the Brave New Workshop (the nation’s longest running satirical and improvisational comedy theater), who will share some inside secrets from the world of improvisation and explain how we already have the tools we need to empower our improvisational-selves.
About Our Presenter
Jenni Lilledahl is co-owner (with husband John Sweeney) of the nation’s longest-running comedy theater, Minnesota’s own Brave New Workshop (BNW), founded by Dudley Riggs. Jenni has held many roles as a business owner since 1997, and currently serves as executive director of the BNW’s school, the BNW Student Union.
Considered a founding mother of modern improvisation study in Minnesota, Jenni has endeavored the past 20+ years to bring the mindset and tools of improvisation to as many people as possible. Outside of the BNW, the hallmark of Jenni’s community involvement is her work as co-founder of Gilda’s Club Twin Cities, a cancer support organization that opened in 2014.
