Three Perspectives on Midlife Transition
As we enter midlife, all of us in the SHIFT Community share the challenge of figuring out what’s next. Because each of us has come from a different place, we will face that challenge in different ways. The March SHIFT Forum will feature three diverse perspectives on midlife transition.
After losing her husband to cancer seven years ago, Connie Dawson was left to raise two teenage sons on her own. Now they’re in college, and she’s started a new career. She titles her presentation “On Losing the Ones We Love and Moving Forward.”
Just over a year ago, David Garcia walked away from the profession he’d followed for nearly three decades. In a talk titled “The Launch from Career Certainty to Adventure,” he’ll describe his shift in thinking and his move to put more of his inherent skills to work.
As an experienced career management coach, Susan Hawkins has encountered transition challenges of many kinds. She helps others move into a new life focus at any time of change by facilitating their personal growth. She’ll speak on “Helping Others to Step Out.”
Our panel moderator, Norm Plasch, has been providing guidance to midlifeaudiences for the past 15 years, with the goal of giving participants a message of hope.
The March Forum serves as a preview to an April SHIFT workshop that will provide you with additional tools and guidance as you consider next steps toward purposeful life and work.
